“On people called #melians who have no regrets”

In truth, whilst change IS inevitable — just as #siliconvalley and its dreadful hangers-on have universally, dogmatically and terrifyingly proclaimed for over half a century — its NATURE never automagically was. It’s just a fact, this: just a fact, too. For #bigtech is an only “half-the-story #tech”. And only ever has been.

Mil Williams, 27th April 2025, Arlanda Airport, Stockholm, Sweden,

It’s what I said a while ago.

There’s no courage involved in not feeling fear. And therefore no virtue whatsoever in being fearless.

There’s only virtue in doing something despite the need to overcome.

And one other thing I’ve learnt:

Not everyone should like you. If they did, you’d probably be doing something wrong.

Not wrong in itself. Wrong because in the first instance, in my experience, when you have an idea and are NOT stubborn enough not to have your course changed, it’s an error of crass proportions if and when you ultimately fail to persist in transforming the world, particularly when you ideas manifestly deserved to.

And sometimes, maybe often, we do fail to transform what’s around us with our thoughts and imagination precisely because, equally, we want to be liked: I mean, that is, that we tend to prefer to think not being liked is a sign we’re on the incorrect path.

But I now think the reverse. This is what I think. In two parts:

1. It’s always the bad guys who first see the dangers and implications — for them and their easy business models — of different and obstinately held ideas to their preferred future-present: the one they considered, out of their absolute sense of entitlement, absolutely theirs forever. Ideas like the ones, never necessarily originally but for sure always firmly, I’ve continued to propound over the years.

2. It’s always the good guys who last see the virtues and positives — for them and their terribly oppressed democratic communities — of different and obstinately held ideas to their assumed future-present: the one they were told was a result of inevitable change I mean, and absolutely NOT theirs forever.

This is why, when you want to deliver transformation, you have to accept you won’t be liked.

Firstly, the bad guys won’t ever do anything but hate you with their casually polite, practised and breezily easy business smiles.

And this will happen for perhaps the first five years.

And their goal is to break you, and make you stumble, and then dispirit you to the extent, perhaps, you kill yourself.

But then they have a problem. If they sense there will, after all, be a “next five years”, they realise the sword they wanted all that time for you to fall on no longer usefully, or at least reliably, exists.

So they will try to get closer to you and maybe even persuade you that all the while the smiles they sent your way with minimal financial breadcrumbs attached were actually, all the time in question, offerings of real dough.

And some of us out here give in at this point and take the money and run. And then the bad guys close down the ideas, and life continues to get worse for everyone else. Despite our ideas. Despite their coming originally into being. Despite what might have been.

The thing is … this is the thing. If you are stubborn … not original at all … just irreversibly firm in your preferred outcomes, even as fabulously flexible in your means and ways of getting there … well … you may end up concluding what I did when I got to the second and third and fourth and fifth “five years”: you only need to be liked by one group of people.

That’s all it ever takes.

Just one group is needed.

This group being?

The good guys who one day will realise that the #meliandialogue can be upturned: the islands of the world can beat — hands-down — the totalitarians.

Islands?

Places where we continue to understand that once in our histories we built fortresses in order to expand outwards with security and safety first and foremost. And that this was a good idea. And that this was the best idea. And that this is our next best step now.

And then we shall be … NOT #athens, ever … no. Not that. Not the #valley that causes so many tears. Never that. We never could be.

Rather, people called #melians who no longer shall have any regrets.

Four things seen from Yugoslavia I remember profoundly of America

My mother was brought up in #communist #yugoslavia. The #uk saw this always as an acceptable #thirdway (#tonyblair’s own hadn’t been invented at the time).

The #us, meantime, had no such delusions.

At least, when I was a kid and being taken on summer holidays to what was always #croatia not #yugoslavia for my mum, that’s how I saw it — even when I was very young. You don’t know how bad it gets unless as a young man or woman you grow up checking your words even when lying on your own bed. You don’t know the evils of #communism until, like water, it seeps into everything you live.

It was, after all, the #british #foreignsecretary #douglashurd who argued non-#serbs should not be armed by the #allies because this would increase the total body-count. ‘Hardly seemed to matter that more non-#serbs would die than the aggressors in the matter, if such a policy had been followed. The important thing was to keep the total numbers down: liberty and freedom weren’t then ever fundamentals of #british #politics, now were they? Perhaps not now, either.

The foodbank crisis in the #uk no one must mention

Ultimately, it took the influence of the #us to righten the sinking ship. Maybe #margaretthatcher, too. In this sense, she was always a bit of an outlier.

But not that bit of the #uk establishment the likes of #hurd represented. A direct lineage can be drawn, tbh, from that assertion by #hurd and #mi5’s future moral and technological capitulation to #china and #russia both, in collaboration with the #british #conservativeparty as it became under #borisjohnson’s influence, alongside his not-so-secretive #russian funders and #oligarch friends.

I remember four things of the #us from that time, etched into my youthful #english brain like a sizzling brand on the rump of a breed of the best pedigree animal.

1. The magazines #time and #newsweek, bought at the newspaper shop in the harbour of #velilošinj: a little late in the week; but full of good journalism that in their analytical power were sufficient beacons of hope in themselves.

2. The then #internationalheraldtribune which I would buy with my own pocket money. It was a magnificent compendium of different newspapers. I remember reading one of the many I read over the years in a sun-infused piazza in #venice one morning, with #barrymanilow’s #copacabana floating out through a first-floor window. My magdalene, for sure …

3. Then there was #life magazine: what fabulous photographic reportage of the most deepening for a young mind like mine. I would read it once a holiday on the yearly visit to my mother’s friend #nada. She lived in #krapina — a small town not too far from #zagreb — and had been an #english #teacher all her life. She had them piling up in the corner of a room in her house. I’d riffle through them so joyfully whenever we visited. I’d spend hours with their colourful images.

I also loved #nada so much because she smoked so heavily, and my mother hated smokers. But for some reasons she couldn’t hate #nada. And she’s still alive, after all that tobacco: this wondrous big-hearted, small-town intelligence she manifests even now in her 90s. I will never forget how she loved, equally fulsomely, #american #waysofseeing when they weren’t what #trump et al turned them into.

4. Finally, #apollo. I was there when it happened. I was there when 13, too. I was so impressionable; yes I was, it’s true. I was impressed as well, because what I learnt from #nasa and its people all those years — and first and foremost 1 and its profound human sacrifice — set me up for a life where everything, even today, just has to still be all to play for.

And that’s what all these thoughts have led me to: just that.

Never give up.

Never.

Never when they assert that this or that #communism is ok. Never.

Never when they claim numbers outweigh principles, to save our humanity. Never.

And never, even when your homeland says you’re a paranoid schizophrenic instead of a gifted thinker, in order that no one will ever see you as a gifted thinker, and your gifts will never find a space to surface. Anywhere.

Never. Ever. Give. In.

Because I’m NOT #galileo. Never have been. And sincerely, frankly, firmly don’t intend to become.

a jagged sleep

jerking awake from slumber
instead of slowly
arising to the day

that's been my life
under the violence and abuse
of the people who used me

but now my jagged sleep
no longer makes me weep
because the move is latent

and the changes are patent
like parents of the child
most wise and true

and so when we actually
finally get it all onboard
it's democracy's sword

to democracy's enemies
we shall forge and fashion
and make to break

the abusers whose ruses
and approaches of putins'
and cocaine-fuelled decisions

have broken us all:
all this time we've been apart
without soul or heart

to be able to hope for better ways
and days of dreams
where the reams we write

truly serve the purpose
we were set on this rock
to perform and act out

like we knew already
how to rout
the monsters

that assailed our dark nights
as we slept in confusion
wounded by the clocks

where the sand ran out so fast
before our time it was:
yes it was it was it was ...

and so now it's all about this
and that
and whatever it ain't too

because it's time we put behind us
like rucksacks of the grandest explorers
the resentment that has separated

you and me from him and them
in order to just make it right
with the might of ALL our intelligences

and the perspicacities
of our clever cities and communities
where the only thing that's left

is to realise if human fire
and that extreme and creative criminality
battle us over and over

the only solution can be
more machines
at the service of more humans

not more humans
at the service of more machines ...
for this is the rightful way

where a sleep of a jagged
raggedly bewitched humanity
brings us lastly

to the senses we commonly lost
all these years
in utterly uncommon dazes

of months and weeks
and seconds and minutes
where the watch that was yours to be on

can now be the real solution
of the nation's challenges
instead of the real problem

of the terrible occasion:
the 9/11s and then there's hamas
and its brutal strategic song

sounding out like twisted voice
as gorging on the meats of hell
it sends us all to dwell on fears

and hatreds to the very max
where sitting there
omnipotent and forever

all we can see
is putin's russia
with democracy targeted

longitudinally and profoundly
as if a torpedo to the waterlines
of good fisherwomen and men

striving to be something at last
and never quite getting there
as the hamas we know

and the russia we battle
and the 9/11 we obviated
find that in ultimate outcome

we may overcome
in the name of a better world
our tested natures and failures

which all the above presupposed
and now may lead to summits
-- where not summats! --

of britain's best and europe's finest
and to the united states
of the most HONOURABLE of traditions

just this and just that
and just what we must do
from now on in ... from now on in

a final gamble
on absolutely everything
that we care for in the professional for sure

but in the personal too
(where not the personal TWO ...
and then again maybe

this can be you and me both)
when the truth of it emerged once
and now purposefully surges

for the benefit of all
and for the clarion call
of a NATURAL justice

and for just doing right
via the mightiest of sights
and the crosshairs

of the blessed
and the rested
and the rest of us SO yearning for the right

in order to find some way of being human
where all around us
lie the untruthful of these wars

like whores of devilishly ancient rhymes
and those times
that dispense with our attempts

to be good
as we ought
and as we were taught too it's true

because it's all true it is
what i say and proclaim yes it's true
so listen now

and please do both as
and how i want ...
do as and how i want and NEED

and sometimes have had to plead it's also true
just do it yeah?
and do it now ... and how!

on a human victory

https://gb2earth.com/research/newlean | https://newlean.org (ask me for the password if required — this is an ongoing project and developing whitepaper)

or what achievements really consist of

it's doing what you wanted
but only hoped for
and maybe you wanted more than you hoped for
and maybe you expected deep down
the sound of total victory
and anything else for a while seems like less
and maybe even feels like a failure of the deepest of all
but in truth a total victory just ain't what humans are about
when human is what we're about
because a total anything
is a pyrrhic everything

and so i begin to warm to you finally
and the idea that without writing a single line of code
i have convinced one of the biggest organisations in tech
and those companies that work alongside them true
that just my words and terms of english
have been enough to show how a new world
exists right out there
and that it's no longer on my part a failure of the worst
in any shape whatsoever
nor a loss of the least
to propose that i might accept working with disruption of this nature
primarily because the culture of the big and the small
in this case become us
as one and the same
and the same and the one
since both of us converging separately anon
have arrived at conclusions of parallel lines
where arguments cogently strung together
on two-pagers of simple a4
eschewing as we do the fancy graphics
of "say what you're going to say
and then say it
and then summarise it"
and where in fact the bullets pointedly hit
the marks of zero innovation
and even less invention
because to follow these paths so well-trodden --
so religiously i mean --
is to die a death of a thousand mutts
as dog-days encroach and shroud our thinking

for it's time once again to move well on
from the old old old man's valley
where even the youngest entrepreneur
finds themselves trained up in the fuddy-duddy
of the mere tweaking of tech
so no one may rock the boats of existing portfolios
nor business models galore (but actually hoary as hell)

because it's time the bells of brand new relationships
consecrated on firm and financially win/win terms
begin to bring to the world
the teams and reams
of the gutenberg of intuitive thinking:

the printing-press of arationality
changing the way we do technology much more easily
and being as there's no better way to do this
than working back from the customer always
in combination with a new lean that reasons
with care and compassion
and rationales of the very best
to the very VERY maximum
HOW to extract the truths NO ONE says
but EVERYONE knows full well
and all too well
and as well as the next
as we lie at night suffering the lies
that tie the world up in knots
and which have blotted our futures
as they are held by their throats
gory and cruel as the fossil fuels they freely promote even now
by those who care only for planets outside
and little for the one we all grew up on --
and here i mean all of us
and how i mean it's clearly seen
and how it's been! -- because this IS it i say:
WELL time we found amongst the rich and poor
the course that aligns our interests both
and so nothing better than a brand new process
that unleashes our humanity as never before

and so i'm ready to see what's next
not as failure for another
nor for me or them
nor total victory for me or another
nor us as we might see ourselves
nor even as the outputs of the lyricists of ancient harps
as they start to sing again out loud and proudly
but rather quite instead
a victory of the grandest for a GOOD citizenry
wishing to bring about a humanity of the brightest
by simply enabling our gut feeling and intuitive ingenuities
in ways we never imagined ever

this is what it is then this text i write
as i send this poem to the people who know much better than me
what's happening on the inside-out
and how this will affect the outside-in
and so from me -- as this --
just as a missive
of my final conformity
and my capacity to embrace you now --
those of you
who know (and how you do!) --
in my full cognisance
of the scientific and evidence-based realities
which (burnished anew)
will renew and repair the horrors these warlike peoples
have visited on the rest of us without qualms
where to date only psalms are able for now
to protect us with their prayers
and beseechings and readings
of the sacred stones
and the rites that serve strangely to right our wrongs ...

because whatever happens now
the killing-field will be levelled
and new lean will become the tool we use --
shining as we will ... for sure! -- to release
as we must and should
and ought to and would have
many many decades ago
if only we had cared to listen
to the equally sacred understandings in tow
which we blithely ignored
as stupidly tawdry attempts
to go beyond making easy money
and actually solving problems
which weren't just making more money it's true
in manners
quite ill-mannered and foolish and unkind
as we rewound to the past
even as our tech is of now
and even as we chose firmly to screw the world
for everything we could scrape
and make ours
to the exclusion of a legacy
we just DIDN'T want to make at all free
in any way whatsoever whatsoever

and so now all this changes
as i approach the companies
which working together
in common cultural dissonance and rub
with different ideas yet common outcomes even so
and uncommon sensibilities in beautiful consonances
for these are the resonances
which enriching
now demand we hand over to each other our destinies
not as passive fates
too late to the party to do anything wise
but instead to a common goal
that SHALL be that of rescuing our species
from its long-term idiocies
by tapping into that fabulous skillset and virtue
present all this goddamn time:
the intuition of a humankind
multiplied up a billion times and more
being you and you and you and you
and me and her
and thee and tree
and us ALL seeing clearly anew
as if never before ...
... ever before:
THIS all being
our shared future-present collective fate
awaiting us all from now on in
and no longer too late to the party i mentioned
because that party is the citizenry we will fully reconstitute
not as brutal future robots of silicon
but just sentient human beings
achieving the total victories of me and you
no longer gone ...

but i do i make sense (in worlds of incense)

My latest #poem on #siliconvalley’s corrupting choices, plus a link to the new online #whitepaper on #newlean … and other observations …

i'm incensed to be honest
and yet not:
no gorgeous odour drifts like a breeze
of glorious glees
nor assails plentifully my senses

but incensed i remain even so
at how rich people remain rich
by plundering our brains
and attacking our better selves
whilst all we had been asking for was this:

to be human to the max
to enjoy being in the sack even
with someone who hadn't met us online
before we began face-to-face to vibe ...
... who hadn't had us sussed

and hadn't trussed us up mentally
so that they saw us way earlier
than we ever saw them
via that den of thievery
that is silicon valley since forever and all

because the real problem now
is that surveillance to this max
which we conduct on each other
and use to blather and gossip about
so that the outcomes

become attempted suicides
and depressions of the most revealing
and the permanent anxieties
of living a life
as if it were a death on legs

that's what big tech has brought us to
and that's why i'm incensed as i am
and angry so very much
that the human touch even that
is now a monetisable gap

that an elon and satya
can invade and intrude with their choices
to make the kind of technologies that hurt
and be leaders of the worst
instead of wanting to be peers of the first

yes i am incensed in the western sense:
angry to the very maximum
and it seems my words fall
on barren grinds
of coffees never exchanged

yet in a more eastern sense
i smell your comprehension growing
and see you showing
an embrace approaching
to my ideas of #intuitionvalidation

and it's this incense i sense
of the flowers and the astringent
and the spices of natural inclinations
which i now turn to
as i turn my back on the west i was born to

because it's here i find my pals of thought
where nothing needs repeating
and nothing needs reasserting
and all is agreement and fulsome assent
and that's what it's all about:

knowing how your place
is no longer where you are
nor has ever been perhaps
and maybe it's never been so
and just time ... just time to go"

On the City of Chester UK (and why I stay …)

Chester was a place that gave a lot to me and took a lot from me.

It allowed me to grow into adulthood, with an epilepsy that struck me at ten years old, and was medicated with barbiturates until a better solution was duly found six years or so later.

In the 1970s it was a place of little attraction for young people, at least people like me … though now it has vibrant sociocultural institutions, and a small-town vibe that works for very many people.

But small-town vibe cuts both ways. It can lead to the beauty of the gentle and the unsuspected: of people who reach out to you and want to be reached out to, equally. Or it can lead to the embracing of criminal and mafia-like behaviours. Where who you know is much more important than what you describe and experience, even when you communicate it with absolute accuracy.

Today I saw in this very same town of Chester its very best side and its very worst. In its remembrance of the sacrifices of two world wars, and more before and since, it was exemplary and compassionate.

In its defence of mindsets I myself recall from my childhood — for example, things that happened at school to me and my classmates, which today would lead to criminal prosecutions — it also showed such evil people are still alive and literally kicking.

Earlier today, I was walking into the Tesco in the centre of town and a woman cut closely into my path with a suitcase trailing behind her. I had to stop. I bided my time. I then headed away from her into the shop itself, and lo and behold, she drove her suitcase, now in front of her, into the back of my left leg.

I turned round and she asked me if I was all right, with a beaming smile. I answered I was, and asked her pointedly if she was.

She said nothing. We went our separate ways. But the mindset she had didn’t. It planes over this city of two curious parts. One part, beautiful and scenic, in the physical, emotional and intellectual, and with the cultural organisation it never had in my childhood and now, obviously deservedly, manifests to the max for all who wish to value it properly:

storyhouse.com

But there’s another part, a quite different layer of society in Chester. It’s a layer which mainly chooses to defend its own very restricting, manipulative turf at the expense of the innovation and invention the first half not only treasures as it always attempted to, but is now capable of formulating wisely and assertively.

The layer which looks to defend its always-has-been looks to the past as a justification of all current behaviours: the woman with the suitcase and her mates videoing the scene are just a silly example of how the past can be (wrongly) used to justify a #gaslighting present.

The other layer, the one of cultural vision and fabulous statements where every human being has value, meantime, looks to Chester’s past not as a justification of the nowadays and the cruelties these others are continuing to deliver, but as a way of intelligently informing a collective future-present of the most wondrous: a world where all of us fit in, strive and eventually not just live but thrive.

This is Chester UK, then: the marvellously creative, wise, generous, gentle and compassionate on the one hand. And on the very beastly other, what I experienced in Tesco in the town centre not long ago: a group of people who have nothing better to do than track, using mobile phone tech and related, the simple movements of people, like myself, who will not stop telling inconvenient truths.

It’s Brexit Britain right down the line too, is the Chester I experienced today: so many good people who just want the best for the world, on the left of politics and in the decent centre both, whilst on the extreme right the monsters who, in truth, have become one-bit mobsters.

I spent most of my youth in Chester. I’m proud of the sociocultural environment its good people have managed to fight into being in the past few years from practically nothing previous.

Today’s incidents, on the back of other things I didn’t report on other days, because even sillier, have made up my mind, a mind that was unsure, for sure.

My decision after the Chester #gaslighters of this afternoon? I now intend to work here too, to join the better half.

Why?

After being unduly incarcerated back in 2003 by the outliers and institutions of this city, you’d maybe wonder why indeed. I’ll tell you, then. Now I shall. The good people who’ve stuck it out, and made this place so much better, deserve other good people to join the fight.

The bad, the one-bit mobsters I mean, don’t deserve anything any more. They certainly don’t deserve that the good abandon them to their victory.

In fact, they don’t even deserve our disapprobation.

Just to be ignored, is what they deserve. Just to be ignored.

I do join, then. The movement of the best. Not a city of #gaslighters. Not a city of beautiful #roman even.

No. Rather, a city which has begun to learn to fight a layered criminality with ALL the tools to hand. Something which in my childhood never seemed conceivable.

All the tools. Absolutely all. And even with the written word, I say.

My contribution.

The pen wins.

As does Chester.

NUESTRA huída hacia delante

I lived in Spain for around sixteen years. My Spanish is quite good; but I’m not a native in the language and never learnt it formally.

But the poem below, for some reason today, I felt obliged to write in Spanish: that is, castellano. Because there are a number of sometimes quite different languages the Spanish state and peoples communicate in. I know only castellano.

Mainly, in the street — and then receiving correction via an assiduous daily reading over the years of a linguistically ferocious Spanish newspaper called El País.

I wrote the poem below in response to a post that came my way an hour or so ago on LinkedIn. So the poem is dedicated to the man who posted that post, and made me want to write the poem.

Comments, as always, welcome always.

NUESTRA huída hacia delante

sí lo es
una huída
hacia delante
sin querer en absoluto
y sin preocuparse por nada

porque es hora de ver
si tienes razones
por pensar
si hay personas e instituciones
que te quieren

y que quedan -como debieran-
para que quererles
a su vez y de vuelta
sea sensato
o no

porque he llegado

igual
que en el pasado

y entonces si eso significa
que a la gran mayoría
(que solo parece
que sea la mayoría y -desde luego-
constituida en nada de "gran")

me veo obligado a dar mi espalda
es porque tengo ganas
no de dar la espalda a nadie
pero en su lugar
mirar con firmeza de frente

a caras como la tuya:
es decir
a otra clase
completamente
de gente

gente que sólo cree en un mundo
donde el jugo que se derrita
no son las sangres
de la población mundial entera
ni de sus cuerpos frágiles

llenos de las bondades
por encima
de cualquier abuso
cometido por vicio
y por medio de la violencia corporal

de todos los hombres
y mujeres
autoritarios ...
pero para que -de otro modo
bien distinto y precioso-

lo que echamos
no es nada de menos
a nada que hemos valorado
desde hace siempre
como lo mejor de todo ser humano

ni que hayamos querido derretir
los jugos de nuestras vidas
en campos de guerra
y en apartamentos donde bombas
despiertan al bebé recién nacido

para que pueda morir en el acto
en charcos de su propia sangre
con los cuerpos de sus hermanos enfrente
proclamando el adiós cruel
de los violentos tan poderosos ...

pues NO:
no ...
no ...
no ...

Two directions

If total surveillance and omnisciently intrusive CCTV serve only to inhibit us and not Putin et al, the new swords we must begin to develop must have radically new philosophies, much more than just beefier technologies.

On why we need radically new secrecy-positive architectures | Mil Williams, 24th August 2023, Manchester UK

I think I’m being offered two directions to move forwards definitively on my projects. And I think in my mind it’s clarifying my view on what to do next, where, and how.

I think the two directions can both happen, too.

But for many reasons, only one can happen here in the UK, in Ireland and most other places we consider.

If my thinking isn’t mistaken, the security version must only happen in Sweden and countries which share the philosophy that is embedded firmly in a wider Scandinavian way of foregrounding the citizen and their rights when constructing and rebuilding democracies.

So.

What I think is being suggested:

IVP1

1. My #neurodiverse #complexproblem-solutioning proposals may sit in many and perhaps all cultures eventually. If you like, the B2C product and service, where the “C” of B2C equals “Culture”, and which the Swedish intuition corporation I am proposing we build as per The Guardian newspaper group’s Scott Trust would deliver, mostly, indirectly.

Here, in the wider field of using arts-based thinking for solving real-world problems, therefore, practically anything and anyone gets a hearing:

Meantime, the Swedish corporation I would like us to create would not, as alluded to, be involved directly in even a tenth of all the activities that might arise through this Intuition Validation Project 1 (IVP1), alongside its set of related workstreams.

We would only need to license the rights for using the core technologies and philosophies I’ve been thought-leading since 2016. That’s as far as we would go. No need, for example, to shape how any of this was to be implemented. No longer would there exist roadblocks on any side to arise.

It would, therefore, even be possible to make these platforms and architectures available from the starting-blocks for countries with whose security policies I, and a wider Swedish society quite separately and much before me, fundamentally find ourselves disagreeing on: for example, oppressive manifestations of total surveillance & CCTV, and the complete removal of public access to encryption and so forth, even in banking applications, being the approach the UK has been advocating and wishing to put into practice for decades.

Equally, the Swedish and similar, where total surveillance is employed, use it to enable the citizenry and make them feel safer and more empowered: never to make them sense, as we do get to suspect in the UK, that they are permanently being inspected and tracked in order to bulldoze voters and similar into good behaviours out of tools, primarily, aimed at inducing fear.

And that’s a philosophical difference of import: in the UK, we trust that people will be bad: that is, secular Original Sin. In other countries, we trust that enabling the help of the citizenry is paramount; we trust that what we might call “good trust” needs to be promoted strategically. Here, then, it’s not enough to be secure at all; we need to be safe, too. We shouldn’t have to be looking over our shoulders all the time. And our policies should reflect this.

One Swedish example to underline: street CCTV on private and state buildings must look down only on the entrance itself to the building being surveilled. No dragnet across all passers-by.

So. If we think like this — IVP1 I mean — there’s no need to negotiate these matters any more, before we may begin, because IVP1 will be in the hands of creators of different kinds, even where what they create may deliver tangible and utilitarian real-world solutions.

And then again, just the one condition too: periodic licence fees, but ourselves, as an intuition-validation corporation, being utterly hands-off.

IVP2

2. Security — the project we might now call IVP2 — is a quite different matter, however.

My Criminal Justice Master dissertation (linked to here), from 2017, on the subject of secular Original Sin*, laid it out really clearly: in an ever more complex world there will be no edge obtained by law enforcement and security if we ensure citizens feel as pursued as the real criminals. The only way we can be collectively more than the bad guys and gals is if we get citizens deeply onside: enabling them to act out their proactive roles as joint defenders of the law. It’s not enough that they just nod their acquiescence to what we claim to be doing when faced by the horrors of modern criminality.

Until countries like the UK accept that our total surveillance-friendly software architectures (admins who see all; users who see nothing but even so are aware, all too aware, how they are being permanently surveilled) have fatally inhibited — impaled, even — our own capacity to think creatively in security, crimefighting and law-enforcement contexts, we cannot develop my ideas in respect of security where such acceptance is not forthcoming.

Because criminals like the Putins of this world do continue to enjoy their own deepest secrecy-positive spaces whilst they longitudinally plan our destruction, despite our own ongoing total surveillance strategies:

www.secrecy.plus/why

You get now, I hope, then, where my objections really lie; where they are firmly seated? If total surveillance and omnisciently intrusive CCTV serve only to inhibit us and not Putin et al, the new swords we must begin to develop must have radically new philosophies, much more than just beefier technologies.

Security for me, therefore, sits where the right philosophies existed prior to my own arrival. And my travails when writing the dissertation in question back in 2017, clearly caused me by British security, indicate, even post-Ukraine, that for quite a while they will not be enabled here in the UK.

To summarise:

IVP1 — just about everywhere

IVP2 — the kind of places and states where new swords may come into being from a prior and existent embedded instinct and impulse to openness and invention in the fields of tech philosophy and architectures

Yeah?

why #neurodiversity doesn’t deserve its corner

‘truth is, if i accepted a label different from 2003, offered in good faith and so forth, then when i found something disturbing me in a public space, people would say, “hey we understand … you have a right to be disturbed …”

but since i think i’m just one more person with a right to have a zone of comfort within which i can feel consistently safe, i am accused of all manner of intolerances.

it’s not fair that society demands we have a label in order that we might be treated with equanimity. we should treat everyone with kindness, compassion and the awareness a wisely considered humanity offers our souls — whether we judge that person to be in particular need of support or not.

not only, that is, because they have an official neon sign that indicates they are human beings of the best (which they are, by the by: yes they are).

i really am not arguing against the concept of #neurodiversity. rather, i’m arguing against the fact it must exist in a corner in opposition to that which is frankly not human.

no one is #neurotypical. as laing & esterson said, when they pronounced in “sanity, madness and the family” that they didn’t even recognise the right of schizophrenia to be present in human thought as a concept never mind a reality, so i refuse to accept that #neurotypical can possibly be a cogently functioning reality of the #humancondition.

we are all #neurodiverse or none of us are. ergo, if some of us clearly are, all of us obviously must be.

why is this important? like a #mentalillness located primarily in the individual as opposed to a #mentaldistress emerging from a toxic environment, the solutions needed are different. with the former we focus on the person as cause of the dysfunction and the solutions are pharmaceutical. effectively, we blame the victim.

for me, you see, it’s the latter which is the principle cause of most #mentalillhealth these days. it’s not the individual we must fix: it’s the places and spaces, both physical and socioeconomic, both sociopolitical and criminological, both cultural and business-related, whose own profound dysfunctions have to be addressed.

an example: #rape is properly prevented by ensuring it’s the culpable men and other actors in truly bad faith we direct our attention robustly and unswervingly at, never the victim we inhibit through disbelief and victim-shaming.

equally, then, we don’t efficiently address #neurodiversity in the long-term by saying it is the challenge.

because #neurodiversity doesn’t need its space. it’s unthinking, unhelpful, dogmatic belief systems such as the idea of being #neurotypical — and that any human of minimal compassion can ever consider it proper and accurate to use the term “normal” about anyone — which need removing.

why? the dogma of normal, as sketched out briefly today, invokes its counterpoint: the process of abusive #othering that is being called “abnormal”.

and this is the high ground none of us humans must cede ever again.

It CAN’T get any easier: just use the past to protect our collective future-present …

I’ve been asked to simplify the dynamics.

So here I do …

The first step to working on the projects under discussion

There is one condition we must all fulfil in order to work on these projects and workstreams in the future:

  • be aware — and practise daily this awareness — of #neoterrorismontheindividual. This means we realise completely and unreservedly that all our past and current decision-making processes and outcomes may have been the result of an embedded criminality and related zemiology, designed strategically to undermine — profoundly and covertly — our true capacity to act independently

“Neo-Terrorism on the Individual” — an overview … but now as defence tool, no longer research proposal

The two linked-to documents in the section that follows below, which originally formed part of a #phd-level draft proposal of mine from a couple of years back, may now be more helpful as descriptors of what I, and maybe many other people, have been experiencing over these years.

It’s more popularly and more generally known as #gaslighting: but I think in certain societies we’ve been suffering from an immensely technified version of it.

This is why I have given it its own name: “Neo-Terrorism on the Individual”.

That is, a tech-driven longitudinal terrorism delivered efficiently on specific human and organisational targets and marks, in order to shape societies over the years in the direction of certain toxic sociopolitical and business interests.

In this sense then, the two documents mentioned should perhaps be seen more as forming a manual of instructions than a research idea any more, in order to begin to foment and ensure a growing awareness of the tech-driven tactics which certain criminal and zemiological actors may still be using — and broadly at that:

Noted: the above is as true of organisations and nation-states in terms of their collective natures and interests as it is in respect of individuals like you and me, being persons with allegedly direct responsibility for our behaviours and actions.

If we achieve this goal, what should we do next?

If we get sign-up and buy-in, to what effectively is a CULTURE of working re all the #privacysensitive, #privacypositive, #secrecysensitive and #secrecypositive projects and workstreams I am proposing, then the organisational and agency law- and regulation-making which has to exist specifically for such projects and our own personal behaviours will be much to administer, inspect, ensure, and deliver on.

Why? Because CULTURE promotes the rule of laws which emerge from the same organically, and therefore make it much easier and possible for people to see them as their own: thus, compliance is achieved out of approval not fear.

Meantime, LAWS ONLY, created by ruling classes (whether elected or de facto) which attempt to IMPOSE what is surely only their culture, clearly outside the majority (the UK is an example ever since I was born; Ireland has become so over the years as a result of its incestuous financial dependence on global tech), only lead to the corruption and illegitimacy that facilitate authoritarianism behaviours and outcomes, where the same need for compliance — for society by definition needs its citizens to comply in some measure — here is achieved primarily, and sometimes exclusively, through tools and discourses of fear.

Just because you smile when you impose your authoritarianism doesn’t make you any less an authoritarian.

Now … does it?

To summarise …

“For anyone, including myself, to be enabled to work on any and/or all of these projects — which for the moment I shall globally describe as the #gutenbergofintuitivethinking, or the printing-press of intuition — we have to accept that our human agency during our personal present-past, in respect of the decisions we took both privately and work-related, may have been fatally compromised by forces truly outwith our ken.

Not mystical or mysterious forces. No. Not this. Just human beings and organisations acting deliberately to longitudinally benefit, in planned and roadmapped ways, their hyper-focussed and zemiological self-interests, prejudicing a much more shared and collective present-past which could have been. And in fact still could be: one, that is, which benefits every human being, and which will be firmly based on all individuals’ sovereignties.”

So … quite simple, really. Accept the thesis of #neoterrorismontheindividual as a potential reality we have suffered from without perhaps realising it in all aspects of our lives to date. Nothing we did, however apparently deeply thought, was of our own doing.

And so our human agency became anything but human.

Wouldn’t it be a quite remarkable achievement if we could, as a first step to remaking our civilisation in the image of the root word “to civilise”, eliminate compassionately not surgically all such #neoterrorismontheindividual in, say, seven years?

And parallel to all that, begin to deliver all this:
